LINK MY PARTICIPANT TO AN EXISTING COLLECTION

Description:

In ATiM, participant products are grouped under collections:

Participant collection – A collection having this type is linked to a participant. (Or is intended to be linked to a participant.)
Independent collection – A collection of this type cannot be linked to a participant. This type is used by collections created from samples received from anonymous participants or other laboratories, where participant data is not available.

This guide will describe the two processes to define participant collection.

  1. Create participant then create a collection from ‘Clinical Annotation’ module.
  2. Create collection first then link collection to a participant.
  3. View the collections that are linked to your participant.

Step by Step

A. Create participant products within a new collection (Collection creation from participant)

  1. Access the Clinical Annotation Module clicking on the module name.
  1. Under the first tab menu, click on ‘Inventory’
  1. Click on the ‘Add’ button.
  1. In the ‘Collections’ section, select ‘New Collection’.
  1. You can optionally select a consent and a diagnosis to link to the new collection.
  1. Hit submit.
  1. You are now in the ‘Inventory’ module. The collection you are invited to create will be linked to your participant. Fill the form and hit ‘Submit’.
  1. The collection has been created. You are now free to create specimens, derivatives, and aliquots. All of those will be grouped under the newly created collection, which is linked to your participant.

B. Link an existing collection to a participant

  1. Under the first tab menu, click on ‘Inventory’.
  1. Click the ‘Add’ button.
  1. In the ‘Collections’ section, click the collection you want to link to your participant.

Note: If instead of collections a message like The query returned too many results is displayed, it means there are too many unlinked collections to display. You have to hit the search button to find the collection you are looking for.

  1. You can optionally select a consent and a diagnosis to link to the new collection.
  1. Hit submit.
  1. The collections that are linked to your participant are listed.
